Altobelli
Jewelers History
In nineteenth century Italy, the gift of fine Italian craftsmanship in jewelry was passed from father to son, from master craftsman to apprentice. North Hollywood is fortunate, because 60 years ago this tradition took root right here on Lankershim Boulevard. For all that time, the Altobelli Jewelers flourished and continues to sparkle under the direction of Cos Altobelli, third generation jeweler, gemologist, and president of Altobelli Jewelers.
Dedicated to bringing the beautiful and exotic to his customers, Altobelli travels the world going to the source, acquiring diamonds and gemstones to create custom jewelry in his own shop.
Dedicated also to his community and to the generations
coming after him, over the decades Altobelli has become
a leader in civic involvement and community development.
He participates in the Lankershim Village Project
to revivify the historic community created in the
19th century by the Lankershim and Van Nuys families.
The store was updated in 2007 with a Tuscan ambiance,
interior and
exterior.
Altobelli Jewelers carries a fine line of jewelry, in platinum, gold and sterling silver. Altobelli has an excellent selection of diamonds and colored gemstones, both set and unset, as well as pearls, a magnificent collection of estate pieces, and unusual gifts. Many pieces are original creations; Altobelli craftsmen transform metals and precious stones into exquisite works of art. They also transform and personalize estate pieces for their customers. To customize and original piece, they first transform your thoughts and feelings into a sketch for your approval. Then their artisans manifest your vision in a one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry. Every step is performed by a specialist, and most of the work is done on the premises.
In 2001, the National Jeweler Magazine awarded Mr. Altobelli with “Retailer Hall of Fame.” |
